POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing / Procurement Manager to lead and execute end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities in a fast-paced startup environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role ideal for someone who thrives in an agile organization and enjoys wearing multiple hats to drive impact across the business. 

In this role, you’ll manage everything from supplier strategy, cost negotiations, order execution, vendor relationships and ERP setup/management. You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Finance, and the larger Operations team to ensure our high-tech products are built on time, at cost, and with quality. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the full procurement lifecycle: sourcing, quoting, negotiating, ordering, and tracking. 
  • Build, manage and maintain a reliable supplier base for direct and indirect materials (e.g., PCBA, mechanical parts, electronics, tooling, test equipment). 
  • Maintain, evaluate and onboard vendors for prototyping, contract manufacturing, and production runs. 
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, order follow-up, and resolving delivery or quality issues. 
  • Partner with Engineering on early supplier engagement during product design and development. 
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement supplier agreements to drive savings and efficiency. 
  • Monitor supply chain risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies for lead times, shortages, or geopolitical risks. 
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness and part availability. 
  • Setup, Maintain and improve procurement documentation and systems (ERP, BOMs, cost tracking, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, invoicing, and tracking actual vs. forecasted spend. 
Key Skills/Abilities
  • Hands-on experience sourcing electronics, mechanical components, or contract manufacturing services. 
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. 
  • Familiarity with startup operations, fast iteration cycles, and working with limited resources. 
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and Excel for data analysis, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of overseas sourcing (China, SE Asia, Mexico) and logistics, preferred. 
  • Ability to work independently while aligning with company priorities. 
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities. 

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. 
  • 5–8 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a startup or high-growth tech environment. 
  • Experience supporting hardware development from prototype through production, preferred. 
  • Experience with implementing an ERP system, specifically NetSuite a plus!
